A Study on Dairy Supply Chain Management in Chhattisgarh -A Case Study

Abstract

In order to manage and coordinate the movement of commodities, information, and money from the manufacture of dairy products through the delivery to customers at the end, the process is known as dairy supply chain management. The central Indian state of Chhattisgarh is renowned for its enormous dairy and agricultural resources. Small and medium-sized dairy producers are prevalent throughout the state and are crucial to the dairy industry. The absence of cutting-edge technology and infrastructure is one of the key challenges confronting Chhattisgarh's dairy supply chain. This frequently leads to low output, poor milk quality, and significant loss. Inefficiencies and high transaction costs can also result from the fragmented nature of the supply chain, which involves numerous middlemen. Many actions have been done by the public and business sectors to address these issues. To increase the effectiveness and quality of the supply chain, private firms are also making investments in cold chain infrastructure, quality testing labs, and other relevant services. The cooperative offers dairy farmers marketing opportunities, financial help, and technical aid. Dairy producers now produce more milk, have more control over its quality, and make more money.
