Abstract

This paper examines the pivotal role of green human resources (HR) policies in fostering sustainability within the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing, known for its significant environmental impact, can benefit from the adoption of smart manufacturing technologies. However, the successful implementation of environmentally sustainable practices necessitates the active engagement of human resources. By emphasizing green HR policies, manufacturers can create a workforce that is aligned with sustainable goals and actively contributes to reducing environmental degradation. This paper explores the potential of green HR policies to promote sustainability within the manufacturing sector and highlights their importance in facilitating positive environmental change. Adopting green HR policies, such as eco-friendly recruitment and training, employee engagement in sustainability initiatives, and creating a sustainable workplace, can help foster a culture of sustainability within the organization. In addition, implementing sustainable supply chain strategies can help reduce the environmental footprint of the manufacturing industry.

This paper provides insights into the various strategies that organizations can adopt to promote environmental sustainability through green HR policies in the manufacturing industry. It also discusses the benefits of incorporating green HR policies in terms of employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance.
